Moving placed objects

Post by Sphinx_AR » Sat Nov 28, 2015 10:46 pm

Hey guys,

Just got frustrated with putting that ladder in the wrong spot or having my bed block a new wall section.

Please create a system where you can move already placed objects/structures or remove them and add them to your inventory.

Thanks

I agree. I understand walls and such should be tore down and most structures depending on type, size, and weight though. Maybe add a timer for larger objects to be moved or flipped incase it snaps wrong. This happens a lot and can be pretty frustrating depending on how expensive it was to make. Smaller objects like chests, beds, bookcases, smithy, mortar & pestle for example, should be able to be picked up and moved. Some other objects like the forge can be moved with a damage/repair cost. :D

One thing I would like to see is pillars being able to snap to wall corners. Could be helpful cosmetically and for structure stability. Maybe 9 snap points in a foundation (center, corners, and middle of sides), and the tops of pillars dont stick through ceilings so much. Also please add flip to sloped roofs. Sometimes no matter where we stand we can never get the slope where we want it. Even with the sloped wall in place.

GREAT GAME though! I enjoy playing it.

I HIGHLY agree. Even if it's an item. Here you go!:

"Craftsman's Hammer": 100 durability, costs 20 metal, 50 wood, 100 fiber, 20 cementing paste. Can be used to pick up Structural pieces including Empty Containers. Objects containing materials will cause the items to fall to the ground. Each item picked up will expend 1 durability. As this would not be a cost effective method for moving thatch and wooden structures and basic boxes, it would be far more efficient in moving end game items such as vaults, grills, and pretty much any structural piece that used metal as a component. Granted this could still be used on ANY placed item if the builder felt 1/2 a metal in repairs was worth moving a campfire over going out and gathering that little bit of stone and wood.

"Craftsman Hammer" great idea! there would probably need to be different levels of this hammer. Something low level, mid level, and high level. Cant exclude beginning players id imagine. Plus some people prefer wood houses to stone, and stone to metal. Maybe a APPRENTICE HAMMER for small objects (Wood), JOURNEYMAN HAMMER for small and med objects (Wood-Stone), CRAFTSMAN HAMMER for Everything? Price depending on type. Obviously the better you are, the less resources you would use based on type. Wood and stone getting cheaper to do as Craftsman, and wood getting cheaper to do as Journeyman. This could also work well as just a leveling system. Maybe a BUILDING ACCOMPLISHMENT SYSTEM.
