Meteoroids!
A very rare meteor falling towards Arkth.
It crashed! (Can crash on buildings) Now what to do with this meteorite? Chip away at it with some Metal Pickaxe to get mostly ash, very little amounts of ureilite, and extremely little (if not, none at all) amounts of nanodiamonds. You have to process the ureilite in order to craft with it. To process ureilite, you must cover it in oil, and then heat it at extreme temperatures by putting it in a "sun's forge".
What these cool thingmajiggers can craft:
1. Sun's forge is made from 300x melting ureilite (random shards of meteoroids found anywhere), and 900x obsidian, 300x stone, and 100x metal.
2. 5x nanodiamonds, 40x obsidian, and 10x processed ureilite can be used to create a tribal necklace. Tribal necklaces add extremely powerful buffs to your tribe. This includes 3x exp, faster and stronger community dinos, and a ton of buffed stats to the individual tribe members.
3. 10x nanodiamonds, 100x obsidian, and 100x chitin can create a meteor gauntlet. Adds insane amounts of protection and often makes you colder.
4. 60x processed ureilite, 40x obsidian, and 3x nanodiamonds creates a meteoroid pickaxe. Takes up 1000 weight. Super fast speeds in terms of destroying anything. Adds a broad amount of fortitude from its sharp and efficient materials.
5. 200x processed ureilite, 300x obsidian, and 2x nanodiamonds creates a meteoroid cleaver. Takes up 2000 weight. Very slow but extremely effective and probably would one-shot a spino.

Re: Meteoroids!
1. It's main form is the meteoroid, and then it goes meteor, and then meteorite.
2. I don't even like my own idea, so yeah, I don't know why I posted this.

Re: Meteoroids!
would be cool to see them shoot through the sky sometimes though

Re: Meteoroids!
So, alittle extravagant in The description I must say, however I like the idea, with some changes.
1: meteorites cannot land within foundation zones, nor damage buildings.
2: when a meteor is falling, have it come straight down with a fairly loud but not an over powering or deafening fire sound, followed by an explosion like sound. The meteor would cause a small crater as shown above and would be barely visible in the center.
3: upon impact, you have until the next Rain to find it and harvest it for large amounts of crystal and metal, possibly obsidian. Once it rains, the dirt theoretically washes the dirt back into place and buries it. (De-spawn)
4. Possible varying meteor sizes, have these drop down very similar to the Beacons, but much more rare, way more potential drop locations, and the varied size would depend how much of what materials it contained.
5: adding this could entice the "Treasure Hunter" type of person would would find it to be a lucky break or feel like they just won the lottery when the track down the crash site of an (up to) 800 metal meteor crashed on the island nearby.
Edit: p.s. not sure what metal you came up with and decided on but I'd recommend either Iridium or Unobtainium. Iridium is the densest metal found on earth and is insanely heavy, highly chemical and heat resistant, great at shielding radiation, and is incredibly rare on earth, it's one of the rare earth metals and the only common application is the 2gram tip on your sparks plugs in your car. Unobtainium is the mythilogical/legendary metal in most Sci-Fi films that is the most valued material in exsist and is what make anti-gravity and dark matter reactors possible. (Unobtainium was recently in the movie Avatar).

Re: Meteoroids!
I agree with all of that. The ureilite was from the word 'uranium'.
