Hello everyone, I am having trouble with friends being unable to join my server.
I have the server up and it is running: http://i.imgur.com/poe1XZ5.png
I can see it in the Steam LAN server browser: http://i.imgur.com/2cRKYk9.png
I can see it in the in-game server browser on LAN: http://i.imgur.com/O7ADvtq.png
I can join the server and play, and everything is working: http://i.imgur.com/fdl6Jkz.png
I added windows firewall exceptions: http://i.imgur.com/FdOZfdO.png
I have forwarded the ports in my router (I added every port mentioned in any of the .ini files): http://i.imgur.com/d7IGmob.png
I made sure that the router was forwarding the ports to the correct machine: http://i.imgur.com/0rWXwNS.png
I am not sure where the problem is. The server does not show up in the ARK server browser in the game, or on the fan made browser. The symptoms point to blocked ports but as the last three images show, I have followed all the steps to make it externally accessible and everything should be working. I have hosted other servers before and they have worked with these same port forwarding steps.
My friends can see that I am in a server through Steam. They can see my server name and that I am on it. When they open the server details, it shows my local IP address (192.168.etc) and not my external address. They are unable to join through the Steam server browser.
Any help is appreciated.

Re: Server join-able on LAN, but not externally, ports forwarded
Okay, we found an easy workaround. My friend added my server to his favorites in the Steam server browser. At first it only showed for a few seconds and disappeared. Then it decided to work. He was able to join and is now playing on it.

I stated a way to connect over "arkserver.com" in my guide (: Better check the tutorial next time.Untitledone wrote:Okay, we found an easy workaround. I read the tutorial. My server does not show up on arkservers.net. My friends are on and playing now. I don't know why it isn't showing up but I don't really care anymore. I would rather it not broadcast anyways.eXi wrote: I stated a way to connect over "arkserver.com" in my guide (: Better check the tutorial next time.
