The tool looks great, and the layout has been really helpful in configuration and doing installations. However, do I need to port forward 7777 and 27015 for this server to work? I don't have permission to disable my router firewall and this has blocked any port forwarding attempts.

Keep up the good work. :D

So i am kinda a noob at this server hosting thing, but want to try to host one for me and my friends. i downloaded your tool to try it out but after doing the fist steps and trying to launch the server (step 4) i keep getting the message "Server file not found, run an update.", I have run the update like 5 times and still the same message. So i was wondering if anyone know what I'm doing wrong, if its about what map i have put the tool in our if it is something else?

Thanks in advanced for any help clearing this up.

I had everything going well with the initial server tool you released Hell. Now today i upgraded to your latest version, just replacing the servertool.exe and when i relaunched my server, it's like I did a wipe! I didn't want to do a wipe and I have no idea where all the buildings and tamed dinos went, or why...

Before upgrading, I had done server updates as the game released them and it always saved progress, so I don't know why this happened. Really need a save world feature outside of the game I suppose.

Hello! first I'd like to say that this is an amazing tool, but sadly i seem to have run into a little trouble. I went through and set up the server correctly, at least I think I did, but when i launch the server, it only shows up in the LAN section. I've ran a few servers in my time and I've ran into similar issues and I've tried everything I know (playing with firewalls, playing with port forwarding etc.) but as far as I can tell everything is the way it should be. also, my game crashes whenever i go to the my survivors section of the server list and I have the server running at the same time, idk if the problems are connected but I figured it was worth noting If you could offer any advice on the matter it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey,

first i would say nice work.

but one question: how many letters are allowed at server name?

I would put into this:

[GER] Sparta-Gaming | PVP | DDOS Protected | Active Admin | High Performance |

But it only Displays at Steam and everywhere this

[GER] Sparta-Gaming

can help me?

QUESTION: How do I update my DST to the newer version - without having it interfere with my current world/server?
What do I need to do so I do not lose what me and my friends have progressed with?

Did you select default or advanced setup when you launched the newer version?

What setup did you choose when you first launched the tool? Default or advanced

Which config isn't saved, the server config or the tool config?

You should have the ports +1 forwarded, so if you forward 27015 also forward 27016, and 7777 as well as 7778, typically you can specify a range to forward, so setting the range to 27015 to 27015 actually confuses most routers and modems, so using 27015 to 27016 and 7777 to 7778, should clear up any issues

That is very strange, I use the same characters in my servers name which is HWC ARK |New|24/7|, when I look at mine in the steam servers list I can see the whole name, but when in-game it cuts off, so check the steam servers list (right click steam, servers, favorites(assuming you have it added as a favorite)) and see if it's showing the full name properly on there.

You should not need to do anything, I would make a backup of your ark_server folder, then drop the new tool in and replace the other one, open it up and choose Default Setup, let it load and make sure your config loaded up all of the options, as long as it does that you should be good to go.

I launched with advanced and choose the folder on my desktop I had been using previously. I thought by only replacing servertool.exe i would be saving or using my same server files, not wiping the entire server. Did I do it wrong?
