Hi everyone
I would like to know, is there a way when I update my server via SteamCMD, to have SteamCMD also duplicate or put the changed / updated files only, in another location
SteamCMD question
Re: SteamCMD question
So you want to make a serverfolder like "Ark Server v183" and then have a completely new folder like "Ark Server v184"?
To do such you can simply add the -forcedir to the SteamCMD to set the new install folder.

Re: SteamCMD question
Thanks for the reply Henry
But my goal is to only have the updated files in that directory. So lets say I am on 1.83 and there is an update for 1.84 and the total amount for this update is, for example, 100MB, I would like that 100MB separate. The reason I asked this. My brother and his wife wants a local lan server. They took their pc's to a friends to get steam and the game and want to play at home only where they have no internet. I was hoping to help the out with the updates.

Re: SteamCMD question
I don't think that it's possible to have only new files downloaded, as the SteamCMD downloads everything on updates. You might have to download the entire server files, and replace their server files with the new ones.
You only have to backup their save files before.
But if there is a way to have a seperated update download, i'd highly like to see how it works
Maybe you can sort the server folder for the most recently edited files and copy them out?
