[UNOFFICIAL] How to Create, Host and Join your own local Server!

Maybe you guys can help with this problem I have been having.

I have two separate Windows machines and servers on one are working fine while servers on the other are not able to join.

Server #1 (not working)
Binding to a secondary IP with Multihome setting (I have two IPs on this box, secondary is DDoS protected so I am using that, datacenter says it's not their configuration either)


Server #2 (working)
Binding to primary IP with Multihome setting


It's the weirdest thing. I have made sure the redistributables and DirectX have been installed on both to no avail.

Hey there,

Thanks for the help, but I believe I'm in the correct path. Not sure why its not showing that... I have the game downloaded via steam (and tried steamcmd) but doesn't look like that folder is showing up.. Anything else special I have to do?

Hey there, read your guide, did everything (i hope i did it right ) worked all whitin the look at steam on lan servers, woohoo, there is my server, BUT, only there, not on the website, not on the game, nowhere except steam himself ever heared about my server, sometimes on the website i can find me by 'offline severs' bot most time i can't find him online neither offline, sitting here for a couple of hours, hope you can help

Edit: and yes, i tryed the password unofficial /mysurv hitting ingame shit, but, there is nothing, if i try to connect to the server (rightclick on it in the steam list) it start the game and loads, or atleast gave me the loadingscreen and nothing more did happen

So first, great guide. However I'm still having some issues, and was wondering if you guys could think of any other work arounds.

I've followed the guide pretty much to the letter, and got it to the point others see it on the lists and can join it with no problems. However I still can't join it my self. I can't find it on any lists (even using the work arounds listed) other then LAN. When I try to join the server using the LAN page, it just says connecting to server for a few seconds before doing nothing (screen goes away). If I try to join off a friend who is already in my server, it says it can't detect anything in the server (says it is not running).

So, any other ideas on how to join my own server?

So, I made the .bat file, and I checked the server list for steam servers and it shows up, however it won't show on the website you said to check and it won't show up on the list after I did what you said to do in game on the list.

Hi! I tried to setup my server but the server does not shows up in steam and I don't know what to do.

with the update 171.74 they integratet the option 'lan' in the ark serverlist dropdown, thanks to the new option i saw my server the first time. could join it, but no connection outside of the network, that's not the big deal, could fix this with the evolve https://www.evolvehq.com network so now i can play with friends on my private...

A few patches ago, I was able to execute admin commands in console, however recently I'm no longer able to. The password hasn't changed, any suggestions? Thanks!
