manual iP entry for server

My friend is running a server of ark and I seem to have constraint issues finding the server and getting in on my dsl internet (800kb down) . If one of my friends are in the server already, it doesn't seem to be an issue to get in; nor at any time do I lag once into the server. I think the log in screen could be improved with an option to put in an iP manually. (Right now I have to refresh many times and get a lot of timeouts if no one is on.)
