Local Dedicated Server times out trying to join

Hi, I've setup (successfully I believe) my own dedicated server. It shows up on the steam server list, but everytime I try to connect to it, it boots the game, and seems to atempt to for a few seconds, before saying it lost/timed out the connection. Any help?

I am having the the same issue and have been reading and messing with settings for two weeks now with no luck in fixing it. I have tried every port configuration, different methods of getting to the server and other computers on my network. The only possible explanation I might have found along the way was a reference to a NAT loopback issue. I am not sure if this is the issue or not.
