It takes about 5-10 minutes for your server to show up in the servers window.

Steam->View->Servers->Favourites-> add a server to favourites. add your ip and port. and refresh after 10-15 minutes.

If after 20 minutes it's not there then you need to trouble shoot the server itself, the tool has done it's job.
I was on my server, I exited to Ark menus, added my server to my favorites, and then it appeared in the steam (program) server list. Although, my friends can't connect to it :/

Also, I'm not sure the things I tweaked were considered... Besides the 10 max player settings I put, I couldn't seem to access the admin commands, or other settings I ticked in the launcher tool. :/

EDIT : Also, what is that "Multi Home IP" option ? What does it do to write an IP adresse in the field below ?

The tool is pretty handy, but it doesn't really help with any thing that you can't figure out in-game.

I still can't get my server up due to the issue with the port forwarding, an issue that my friends have problems with as well.
We have done what is required to open those ports, as described in numerous guides (27015 and 7777), but it keeps saying that 27015 couldn't open.

Could you implement a feature that could forward the ports for you? If not, then this software is simply useless.

Sorry I completely disagree with you.

It'd be impossible for this tool to forward ports for you. There are a million and one different routers available all with different settings, login credentials, so on and so forth. Just because you cannot port forward, does not make something that doesn't do that for you useless. The tool is far from useless, this tool makes administering things far quicker if you know what you're doing.

If you're struggling to forward ports, i'd consider not even attempting to host a server to be honest. Getting that right is the least of your worries! But if you're actually determined to get things working and you're willing to do some reading for yourself instead of wanting others to do things for you, use www.portforward.com

Clearly this tool isn't useless. It's actually pretty f-ing useful. And don't forget it's developped by some dude on his probable free time, will and skills, and not by an army of developpers.

A program can't forward your routers port for you, by a simple matter of security first, and also complexity (shit ton of routers models, version, etc, etc). And if you rethink about it, you probably would not like 'any' program to be able to forward the ports he wants just like that, or virus would be in heaven on the internet.

EDIT : So yesterday I finally relaunched my server, and this time, it had the proper name I wrote in the LauncherTool, the welcome message etc, and also I had access to all the admin commands.
Still, none of my friends were able to connect to it, and got a 'server not responding' every time, for the 3 of them.

So I guess outgoing connections are somehow blocked, but I forwarded my steam ports in my router and I authorized Ark in the windows firewall. I also manually added rules for Ark to my windows firewall.

Anyone has an idea ? Should I post some screenshots of both my router NAT and windows firewall ports configuration ?? I really want to have it working this evening...

The software works exactly as it should, if you can't forward 27015 means one of three things, you have a crappy router or your ISP has blocked the port. or you are running some other game on that port already, like space engineers. This tool has got to be the easiest server tool I have ever used. Learning the game existed to a fully functional server in 30 mins. simply amazing

Please can someone help me with my tiny problem ?

Is there a way to check that the necessary UDP ports are 100% properly opened and that the connection is passing through ? Or is there a way to troubleshoot another way ? :/

1. Download a Program called putty.exe
2. Enter server Ip under host name
3. under Port enter 27015
4. Click telnet under connection type
5. click open. if the window flashes and disappears. you set it up correctly

You have to use a saveworld command inside of the game for now. I'ts a cheat command like all admin things for the moment until RCON is developed and working.

Hello again, thank you for your previous reply but sadly I am still having issues. I forwarded the ports +1 like you said, which in the long run probably still helped, but my server still will not show up on Arkservers.net, at least it doesn't all the time. it seems to show up at random times, sometimes it doesn't show up at all or its taking a very long time. one time it even appeared in the list when my server was shut down and i was updating it. Is this normal? do i need to just give it time to load? As far as i can tell I've set up everything correctly so I cant help but wonder if its not on my end but rather the issue lies in the website itself. SCRATCH THAT! I fixed it myself, It was my anti-virus software that was causing issues.
