Let's be honest here, how do u make a vary compicated machine such as the fabricator from a smithy, so I propose that you make a steam power tier, you make a steam engine, and steam fabricator which could be crafted at the smithy. The steam engine would need charcoal and a water tap or resivour near the steam engine. Then you transport the power via cogs and axles, the steam fabricator could make the flak armour, and saddles, and the advanced fabricator.
