1. assuming there is never going to be a save feature?
2. is single player worth playing? if so why cant i create a new character?
3. WTF is up with the compass? when running for your life you cant just go and use it, lol, is there ever going to be a perm compass?

PVE will get boring after awhile. For me PVP is where it's at. Strength in numbers and diplomacy matters. Tribe wars can be epic!
Before joining a server you have the option to delete all your previous history.
No they will never add a perm compass. That would make the game easy and if you play ark then you know easy isn't there style.

1. It could be implemented in solo servers. Official and player dedicated will likely not get such feature.
2. Solo servers are perfect for starters. It allows you to learn the basics on your own with your own settings (faster taming, less damage, etc...) they're great for preparing you for official servers... Or for just goofing around.
3. They may possibly update it so you keep your compass up while sprinting. It's unlikely, but would be useful.
