You can get the module for Apache/NGINX installed called "Spamhause" and it will block about 80% of the spam. There are also plugins for PHPBB that will make it for them allot harder and some are even seen as the "Enemy of XRumer" since they update allot and are quite efficient. Also blocking those C ranges in the control panel will help allot for example "127.0.0.X" because their done on public proxies and most proxies comes from the same IP Range.
