Helping balance PVP.

Post by Pitviper64 » Sun Jun 21, 2015 6:45 am

With the way the servers are setup now if I were to log out on a pvp server people could find my body and kill me, my dinos, and demolish my base completely. So they could undo all my work (and Im gonna stress WORK) of doing all this.

I think that you should make a server setting that would allow basses to persist so you can just repair it at lower costs than completely rebuilding it all. And if they "destroy" a chest they only get a % based on the level of the chest lower tiers give more so you have a drive to upgrade to the bigger and better chests.

I also think that there should be an option setting so that all your dinos cannot be killed while you are offline. What Im talking about is since its summer you have a bunch of late night griefers. And I know that griefing is a a feature of this game and I can get behind that but when you have to spend 1+ hours real time to tame a dino and then you log out in your base where you should be safe (I know I know pvp is interesting). Only to come back in the morning to all that time gone makes your desire to keep playing go away. I would even be happy to see something like an engram that can only be used on 1 dino at a time to keep it alive while your offline. Make it something expensive/difficult to craft kinda like the summoning of the brood mothers. Make it take "symbols" form all the major predators so that not everyone can get it, but make it early in the tree so that on a pvp server it can be farmed by higher level members for lower level characters so that you don't loose everything.

And im not saying make it take effect instantly so that if you try to combat log just to save your favored dino it wont work. But you could put a 30 min timer after you log out or a lower timer if its in a real pen with gate so that if it would be "killed" it just despawns kill you log back in.
