In a post I had an idea about a giant crab creature. I thought it might be pretty awesome to have a similar creature to the trilobite that preys on Trilobites with a short agro range as to not kill off all the Trilobites, but to synthesize a different food chain. These crabs would primarily drop meat and pearls, semi-opposite to the trilos and will run backwards to get away from players but able to rab at you and deal minor damage if you attempt to use your fist. As you get deeper and deeper into the sea, these crabs get larger, much larger! To the point of being the best mobile platform carrier and highest carry weight in the game, but also the slowest. This would also be an easy way to build a sub-nautical base on its back and move from sea to land and vice versa. Or you could kill these gigantic monsters (as difficult as the Gigantosaurus) for a sizable amount of pearls, chitin, and Prime meat.
P.s. the pearls are due to all the Trilobites the crab ate as it grew up,the bigger it is, the more pearls it has lodged in its innards.

And if you catch a small one, it always gets a point in weight, as well as a manual one. And it would get bigger with each level. Good idea on this?

Re: Giant/Colossal King Crabs.
I think that'd end up turning into more of a breeding/Raising creatures type thing. However, I was thinking of there being 3 different sizes.
Large: alittle bigger then a trilobite. attacks behind itself as it tries to run. Yields more meat and chitin then trilobites, with a rare occasion of a pearl. Can be tamed to autonomously gather meat and pearls from Trilobites and clams.
Giant: alittle bigger then the Turtles. Once it grabs you, it will not let go until you've damaged it for 25% of its maximum health, in which case you have a few seconds to run or swim away before it tries to grab you again. Yields a lot of raw meat, a good amount of prime meat, and quite a large amount of chitin, along with garuntee 1-8 pearls that must be looted (checking inside it's stomache/mouth). Can be tamed and and mounted. primary utility is an increased harvest of pearls from trilobites, great tanking capabilities, great meat collector. Sprints about as fast as a Trike on land, Megalodons speed under water.
Colassol: as large as the picture above. Stats are comparable to a Gigantosaurus, carries more then a bronto. Move at a decent speed under water but goes incredibly slow on land. Can be tamed and fixed with a Platform Saddle for a high carry weight capability amphibious base (since they are adding vacuum sealed building chambers fir under water bases). Can be used to harvest large amounts of meat, good amounts of pearls, and can harvest Oil Deposits under water for a decent amount of oil (not quite as good as a metal pick)
