Invisible Electric Fences and Collars
If you added invisible electric fences into the game you could set dinosaurs to roaming and stick a shock collar onto them so that they could roam in and around your base to protect it without having your dinosaurs just run away from your base. The electric fences could be just as simple looking as a standing torch but aesthetically looking different. You could place 4 of these posts in a square around your base so that they connect simply to the two around them or have a system that you name the posts by number in the order you want them to connect this way you can have as many electric posts as you want without having gaps in your fence. Good Idea or no?

Re: Invisible Electric Fences and Collars
Not a bad idea but I see several problems, more so on a PVP aspect. First of, we have normal walls that are supposed to keep them in, even though sometimes a Trex goes rogue and slips through some cracks. The main issues I see with the invisible shock collar fence is:
1: this would let non shock collared Wild Dinos or enemy dinos in. Then it's like a wolf in a chicken coop.
2: in PVP a player could sit outside the fence and shoot your dinos in the face with stone arrows or a pike and just chuckle at them.
3: how would these "snap" and communicate between each other? Would they have to be programmed and tagged to each other fence post you want it connected to? Or would the entire pen be of fixed sizes like 5 foundations, 10 foundations, and 20 foundations with exponentially more material costs?
4. Having it so high in the tech trees it's more then likely require crystal and power to maintain, why use this over a very cheap thatch or stone wall/fence?
5. In Pvp, would destroying a single fence post drop 2 entire walls of your fence? If it's a square then half your base now has no wall.
Pros:
1: if made very cheap, it could be a good way to segregate you dinos in an open environment entry for breeding purposes inside your already developed base.
2: could possible reverse the fence polarity to make it shock all non collared dinos? (Similar to the Force Field they intend on implimenting?)
3: might look cool to see blue beams of lightning blocking off sets of dinos as they meander around in a 2by2 cell.
