Not a bad suggestion, but make it cost 1ep to absorb per level of blueprint difference. Meaning, if your current engram is at base (primitive) level, learning a ramshackle costs 1ep for that engram upgrade. An apprentice bp would cost you 2ep, etc. If your engram level is already at ramshackle, that upgrade to apprentice would only cost one additional ep.

Better yet, utilize a percentage scale for upgrade ep cost. It should cost more to permanently upgrade flak armor than cloth or hide. A player who can make masterwork bows from scratch should've paid at least 25ep for the ability, perhaps more.
