The point of this idea is to try to give us a reasonable way to deal with the often ridiculous times required to tame, especially for higher lvl dinos.
For many of us, having to stay in a game for 4 hours is almost impossible. While I don't want to make taming easy, we do need some way to allow people who can't stick around for so long to still have a decent chance at taming whatever they want to.
My idea is to create an IV for narcotics. Similar to the blood extraction syringe, except this would be applied to a dino after you have it unconscious. It would gradually force the narcotics you've placed in the dino's inventory into it so you don't have to sit there and watch it the whole time.
To make sure it still requires some effort, and to handle different dino's rate of torpor decay, make it so you have to set a rate. This way if you get it wrong you have the same risks as when you're feeding it manually. Too much and it may die, too little and it wakes up.
I think this would allow us to keep the longer taming times while still making it possible for those of us that can't sit on the game for hours at a time to tame the more difficult dinos.
Please let me know what you think of this. I'm interested in hearing any other ideas for how we can improve this mechanic.
