Disappearing Gigantopithecus

While I'm in the midst of taming a Gigantopithecus and if my game crashes or if I have to log off and log back in the Giganotpithecus has vanished with out a trace, I would look everywhere for it with out any luck. I will still see the other creatures i have seen before but not the Gigantopithecus. Even if i have it trapped between rocks or trees or in a taming box it will disappear if i log off or if my game crashes. I think this is a major bug that should be fixed for it makes the Gigantopithecus untamable for me.
