Unable to see dedicated server on LAN

Hi guys
Followed all the setup guides to the T. My server is on the same LAN as my clients. All firewalls disabled. As it is on the same LAN there is no need for any forwarding etc. I can see the server in my LAN list in my steam server browser but not in game. I need help. Bought this for me and my wife and I would rather not ask for a refund.
