Private Server - Unable to open port 27015, but other ports open fine
I'm trying to configure my own server so I can play with friends but I'm having trouble configuring my ports correctly. I am using a NETGEAR router, by the way. I have successfully ran other private game servers but I must be missing something this time around. After forwarding ports through my router and modem, I can't get specific ports to open up for me. For instance, I forwarded all ports 27010-27016 and they all opened except for 27015. I'm having the same issue with port 777. I've configured my firewall correctly, as well as turned it off temporarily to troubleshoot. I am using Port Checker. I also tried checking the server list just in case my server was in fact showing up, but it wasn't. I've literally spent all day browsing through tutorials and help topics but I can't figure it out. I have repeated these steps and am in need of some fresh eyes. Hopefully someone out there will have an idea how to help me! Thanks.

Have you tried using a guide for your router at: http://portforward.com/
If that did not resolved the case feel free to contact me

Port checker isn't always accurate, see if others can join using the IP + port, 7777 is the default one for ARK I think.
Maybe set up your PC as a DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) on the router, this will open up all ports and can be a security issue though.
If it works with your PC in DMZ then you have forwarded your ports wrongly.
Also you don't mention having set any rules in windows firewall.
Do you use linux? If using windows, be sure ARK application is allowed through as well.

DMZ settings will not grant you access to all ports, it will "Allow" them to be more accessible but it will not open all the ports by default.lolzol wrote:Port checker isn't always accurate, see if others can join using the IP + port, 7777 is the default one for ARK I think.

It does not? It does so on my router, sorry for the confusion.

Re: Private Server - Unable to open port 27015, but other ports open fine
Difference between an actual Port Forward and DMZ in "Simple" and "General" Language:
DMZ Makes things more accessible for the assigned IP and does not always require a port forward. This makes things a bit more easy for using ports beyond specific areas. When running a firewall or certain antivirus programs with "shields" it DMZ has no effect at all besides UPnP knocked ports.
An actual port forward:
You tell your network "Hey I want port X assigned to Y Computer/Server and accessible for any one who probes this remotely or internally"

I have the same issue, and it's still not fixed.
My server shows only in local, I can't find it in the unofficial lists.
If I view the server info through steam, the address is 192.168.1.77:7777, which is local.
If I tried to add my server as favorites, it's not responding.
I have done the port forwarding. 27000/27050 (UDP), 7777/7778 (UDP), 32330 (TCP).
I have disabled my firewall software.
I have made all the service could traffic in/out through my router.
I have disabled WAN PING block mode.
I have tried to enable DMZ hosting on my local IP.
My router mode is V1000H (Telus).
