I have a dedicated server hosted remotely with all the ports I could find opened (even tried with the firewall disabled) and the server will not show in the unofficial server list. The server shows just fine in my favourites in steam and is joinable/playable.
Any ideas as to why its not showing up? I had the identical server config setup in another location and it shows just fine in the unofficial list.
Thanks!

Hm, i have no idea. The whole Server is very buggy right now. As long as you can play you shouldn't worry much. It's still an alpha game!forthecake wrote:I have a dedicated server hosted remotely with all the ports I could find opened (even tried with the firewall disabled) and the server will not show in the unofficial server list. Re: Dedicated Server not showing in Unofficial Server list
I am having the same problem. The only workaround I have found so far is to have my friends add the server to their favorites in the steam server browser. Even then it is quite buggy. If you click on the server, it will become non-responsive requiring a refresh of the list to bring it back up. If you are fast and double click it, then the server will stay listed in their favorites list for the duration of the steam session.
They told me of this odd behavior before but it was something else to see it in person. I messed around on a friend's computer and there it was in all its buggy glory. It was quite the thing to see it first hand.
The server works and they don't have much trouble joining if they follow the voodoo steps described above. Quite odd.

Re: Dedicated Server not showing in Unofficial Server list
The ARK client shows rougly 100 servers only while there are usually more than 4000 listed on Steam.
Sometimes my server shows up in my ARK client but it doesn't show up in my friends' clients and vice versa.
On top of that, favorites store only the server IP address. While this works fine and well for dedicated servers on the internet, my server runs in my home on my DSL connection with a dynamic IP address that gets renewed by my ISP every 24 hours. Which means when you add my server to the favorites on one day you will no longer be able to find it the day after as the IP address has changed.
This is how we deal with this situation:
Start ARK client, select Unofficial Servers, check "Show Password Protected Server", type first few letters of the server name into the Server Name Filter field and then press the Refresh button. Now the server will show up in the list. So far this works reliably.
Hope that helps.
